Milroy Projects is led by Jessie Mahon, a visual artist with years of experience leading the print department at Umico in Los Angeles, and an international exhibition record of her own. Business development is run by Arya Shahi, an artist and entrepreneur whose background spans theatre, publishing, and music.
“Milroy Projects is a tribute to my family. My grandparents were corn, wheat, and soybean farmers in Milroy, a small town in rural Indiana. Milroy Projects began as the name of my private visual art studio, and after years of leading the print department at a gallery and fine art printing shop in Los Angeles, I felt inspired to expand – reshaping my studio into a space where I can collaborate with other artists and businesses. In many ways, Milroy Projects is a bridge between where I come from and where I am now. There’s a quiet poetry in that connection: from the tactile, grounded work of farming to the careful, idea-driven process of making art. Both require patience, process, intention, and a deep respect for craft.
Thank you so much for being here. I hope we can work together.”
